Annual class reunion of Biotech experts in Würzburg
Over the last ten years the German Biotech Days have truly developed into THE German Biotech event of the year. Dr. Peter Heinrich, Chairman of the Board from BioDeutschland, proudly welcomed the 760 participants at the Congress Center in Würzburg on April 9th and entitled it as the annual class reunion of the Biotech scene in Germany. In his keynote speech Prof.Dr.Dr. Matthias Tschöp from the Helmholtz Zentrum in Munich impressively showed where the road of translational research is leading to and how the German Research Center for Environmental Health is facing major medical challenges like the prevention and therapy of common disease like diabetes and allergies.
Once again the program of the 2-day conference was divided into 5 different main topics, Ideas to market, Medical Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Research and Technology Transfer, and therefore covering all aspects of Biotechnology.
MLM Medical Labs, being one of the 46 exhibitors, was especially interested in learning more about new trends and developments in medical research. CEO Prof. Stephan Wnendt was very impressed with Ingmar Hoerr’s (CureVac) presentation about a very attractive concept for printing new products using a RNA 3D printer. An excellent example of personalized medicine at your fingertips.
Besides excellent talks and vibrant exhibition area one thing can not be missed at a class reunion: a social evening event. BioDeutschland and the local host Cluster Biotechnology Bavaria invited all attendees to spend a fabulous night at the “Staatliche Hofkeller Würzburg”. The atmosphere in the UNESCO World Heritage wine cellar among the many huge wine barrels, lit by hundreds of candles was unique and certainly contributed to making this event unforgettable.
But not only because of the great evening reception, but even more because of the great overall organization of the event by BioDeutschland, MLM had a very successful conference and will definitely come back to the next class reunion.
