PCT-Europe with new format
This year the Partnership in Clinical Trials (PCT) Europe conference presented itself with a new format to the 760 international visitors in Barcelona. For the first time the official program spanned 2,5 days and featured various topics and excellent speakers and more networking opportunities. In the opening plenary Inma Martinez from Deep Science Ventures drew an impressive picture of Artificial Intelligence. “Machine intelligence will have to be programmed with auditable trails to ensure that human creative approaches and abstract thinking still define decision-making tasks for when the outcomes are non-binary, “ she stated in her conclusion comment. At the end of the first session day the exhibition hall was opened with welcome drinks. The MLM booth could hardly be missed among the 90 exhibitors. With its unique look and the sampling kits on display it attracted many visitors. “The conversations we had at our booth were very intense. From general information about our central lab services, specific requests for kit building or biomarker analysis to detailed discussion about ongoing projects with customers and partners. The contacts we made were manifold and valuable to us,” summarized Prof. Dr. Stephan Wnendt, CEO, the attendance at PCT.
The Masquerade Party at the Maritim Museum was definitely a highlight and provided an excellent opportunity for networking. The changes made in the format definitely provided added value to the conferences and MLM has already saved a spot for next year’s PCT.
