New S1 lab expands MLM‘s service portfolio
Just on time for a great start in 2018, our S1 lab for cell-based assays got fully equipped and is ready to start a new chapter in MLM’s history. For the first time we are able to conduct laboratory work with modified cells of S1 safety level. A laminar flow work bench, a Thermo Heracell CO2 incubator, the automated cell counter NucleoCounter®NC-200TM from chemometec and a Systec autoclave serve as the backbone of the lab. The NC-200 cell counter guarantees precise cell counting e.g. for CAR T-cells which expands the portfolio to novel cancer immunotherapies. It also allows GMP and 21 CFR Part 11 compliant lab work.
A common procedure in the conduct of immuno-oncological trials is the preparation of mononuclear cells from peripheral blood (PBMCs). These preparations will be also conducted in the new lab. In addition, we offer to perform studies in which whole blood, PBMCs or transfected cells are stimulated under defined test conditions and cellular responses are subsequently tested e.g. with respect to cytokine release or reporter gene activity.
A new nitrogen tank offers the possibility for long-term cryo conservation of PBMCs or other cell preparations. In combination with our proprietary sample inventory system the storage will be documented and archived and is calculated on a daily basis, which gives our customers full flexibility.
We are looking forward to new exciting clinical trials with demand for S1 safety level procedures and cell-based assays.
