Seegene Nimbus complements MLM’s genomic capabilities
Following the successful establishment of a PCR system earlier this year, an automated liquid handling workstation for analytical and clinical use was installed for easy RNA extraction and PCR setup. The Nimbus IVD transfers samples from tubes to a deep-well plate and extracts the RNA with magnetic beads for higher yield. The isolated RNA is then transferred to PCR-plates or PCR-stripes.
The Nimbus IVD also automates sample dilution and reagent dispensing. One single set of reagents can be used for extraction of either bacterial, viral, genomic, parasitic and fungal DNA and/or RNA from various types of specimens.
The Nimbus was installed in our brand-new state-of-the art PCR laboratory with a modern room-in-room system to separate preparation and amplification steps. The PCR lab is currently predominantly used for COVID19 testing within clinical trials.
